New Boston Committee is established.

Founded by Jerome Rappaport and others, it is formed at a meeting at New England Mutual Life Hall at 215 Clarendon Street. An outgrowth of a group called Youth for Hynes, it is created, the organization declares, because “Boston’s older voters are losing faith in Boston and its ability to solve common problems.”
